Captivating a worldwide audience via their debut EP ‘Talk Tomahawk’ last year, Hiatus Kaiyote are set to make their live London debut on 11th July 2013 at xoyo.

Impossible to pin down in a neat genre box, the Melbourne based quartet draw on multifarious influences from jazz, soul and hip-hop through to electronica, classical, Latin and World music. Joyfully exploring these hinterlands and condensing the sounds, progressions, structures and rhythms therein, ‘Talk Tomahawk’ was a startling debut, elegantly poised on the axis between heritage and future. Entirely homemade and self-released via Bandcamp, it spread like wildfire across the internet, propelled by self-professed fans such as Questlove, Erykah Badu and Flying Lotus.

Voted Breakthrough Act Of The Year at the Worldwide Awards 2013 back in January, lead vocalist and songwriter NaiPalm travelled to London to accept the award on behalf of the band and blew away the capacity crowd at KOKO, promising to return with the rest of the band to bless London with the full live experience.
